Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is offering an 18-month Finance Assistant Apprenticeship with hybrid working. You will join the Finance Team to gain experience while contributing to reliable financial support and high-quality advice for managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English (4-9) or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a team.
• IT literate with good computer skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in responding to queries in the Finance Queries inbox and from budget holders.
• Maintain the Oracle User Hierarchy and Authorized Signatories Database.
• Prepare and post journals and maintain backing papers for audit.
• Raise sales invoices and credit notes.
• Review unpaid invoices weekly and liaise with Management Accountants to ensure prompt payment.
• Support the Finance team in ledger maintenance and code setup.
• Contribute to overhead allocation and costing of system transformation projects.
• Assist in preparing the Trust Annual Accounts and working papers.
• Support Management Accountants in financial planning.
• Develop Finance Directorate systems and processes.
• Participate in continuing professional development.
• Organise team meetings.
• Maintain filing in paper and electronic form.
