Job summary

Anthony Russel Limited is seeking an Apprentice Bookkeeper & Accounts Assistant to gain hands-on experience in bookkeeping, VAT, and accounts support while learning professional skills.

Hours are on-site, with flexible start times and a 37.5-hour week. Classroom training at Colchester Institute every other week, with a 1-year apprenticeship and potential for progression to qualified accountant status.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English (A*-C/9-4) required.
• On-the-job training toward the Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship with AAT Level 2.
• Proactive accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial information.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices.
• Assist with VAT returns.
• Manage client records and documents.
• Support accounts preparation.
• Communicate with clients by phone and email.
• Update practice management and accounts systems.
• Provide general administration and office support.
• Assist payroll, bookkeepers and accounts assistants with client work.
