Key Accountabilities

In line with the apprenticeship programme:

  • Successfully complete the apprenticeship including gaining AAT qualifications.
  • Assist with carrying out a range of finance tasks, such as:
    • producing regular reports from the University’s financial system;
    • preparing monthly / quarterly management accounts;
    • preparing and consolidating the annual budget and five-year plans;
    • assisting with the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts;
    • conducting ledger and bank account reconciliations;
    • entering accounting adjustments;
    • undertaking student billing and credit control activities;
    • testing systems and validating master data;
    • administering purchase order creation;
    • processing accounts payable;
    • handling insurance claims;
    • undertaking VAT transactional activity.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the apprenticeship mentor.
  • Interact effectively with students, customers, suppliers, and staff of the University.
  • Undertake any other appropriate duties as required.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of grade B GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
