We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join our team in Exeter.

We value long-term professional development. You will have the chance to complete the AAT levels 2-4 (foundation degree equivalent). We will guarantee one day a week for your studies, and management will support you in showcasing your learning. Once AAT-qualified, opportunities to apply for our Chartered Accountancy program will be available through a competitive process, working towards a level 7 Apprenticeship (Master’s degree equivalent) to eventually achieve chartered accountant status.

You will join us on a full-time contract with a starting salary of £17,782 *pending 2025 pay review*.

About the role:
  1. You will work within key areas of the Finance function within South West Water, Bristol Water, and Pennon Group PLC, rotating through six-month placements alongside existing apprentices.
  2. The areas of rotation include:
  • Internal Audit: Ensuring processes are followed correctly
  • Financial Control: Producing financial results and monthly statements
  • R2R - Capital Finance: Managing governance and reporting of planned future spending
  • R2R - Operational Finance: Managing governance and reporting of day-to-day expenditure
  • Transactional Services:
    • Payables: Ensuring invoices are processed and payments made timely
    • Sales Ledger: Raising invoices and allocating income
    • Regulatory Finance: Preparing financial data for Ofwat
