Job description

At South West Water we believe that the strongest businesses are built on solid, stable foundations - with a vision and a culture that gives them the freedom to change, improve and innovate.

We’re proud to be responsible for providing reliable, efficient and high-quality drinking water and wastewater services for the beautiful South West area.

And we have huge ambitions.

Not only are we committed to reaching net-zero by 2030, but we’ve also partnered with wildlife charities, National Parks and local partners to help ensure a better future for generations to come.

So, if you want to be part of a diverse team where opportunities flow and fresh ideas are welcomed, #JustAddWater.

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Apprentice to join our team working in Exeter. We strongly value long-term professional development – you’ll have the chance to complete the AAT levels 2-4 (foundation degree equivalent). To help you achieve this, we’ll guarantee you one day a week to study the qualifications, and you’ll be supported by management with opportunities to showcase what you’ve learnt.

Once you’re AAT-qualified, there will be opportunities to apply for our Chartered Accountancy programme, as part of a competitive process, which works towards a level 7 Apprenticeship (Master’s degree equivalent) to eventually achieve chartered accountant status.

You will join us on a full-time contract and in return, you will receive a starting salary of £17,782 *pending 2025 pay review*.

About the role:

What you'll be doing:
  • Within the Apprenticeship programme, you will train alongside skilled professionals, taking on their expertise to apply in your own career whilst also achieving nationally recognised qualifications.
