Job summary

Sky is seeking a part-qualified accountant to manage month-end close and balance sheet integrity for its Livingston-based operations. You will own reconciliations, run controls, and coordinate with offshore RTR teams, FP&A, and Tax while ensuring audit-ready documentation.

The role requires strong Excel skills and SAP experience, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication across finance stakeholders. The role adopts a hybrid working pattern with two in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience.
• Experience in month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations in a large/complex organisation.
• Strong Excel skills with ERP experience (SAP preferred).
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Clear communication with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close and reporting: prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reclassifications; ensure timely, accurate ledger results and explain variances.
• Balance sheet integrity: own or review reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, manage intercompany balances and asset accounting.
• Controls and compliance: run key financial controls, keep audit-ready evidence, assist audits and statutory accounts, maintain procedures.
• Stakeholder and team support: act as escalation point for offshore RTR team, collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and coach junior staff.
• Continuous improvement: identify and deliver improvements like standardising journals, automation, and SAP/BlackLine enhancements.
