Job summary

Appleyard Lees & Co in Halifax is seeking a hands-on Finance Analyst to join the Finance team. You will combine systems problem-solving with accurate reporting and core accounting to keep billing running smoothly and provide clear, reliable management information.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle WIP, debtors, and revenue reporting, perform reconciliations, support month-end, and contribute to process improvements including adoption of Power BI and other tools.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ relevant finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
• Experience with finance systems and investigating data issues.
• Experience with reconciliations and month-end accounting.
• Ability to produce, manipulate and present financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Billing and systems support: resolve billing queries and improve processes.
• Reporting and analysis: produce WIP, debtor, revenue and billing reports; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Accounting and month end: bank reconciliations, month-end journals, and management accounts.
• Projects and improvement: support system/process changes and embed new controls.
