Job summary

Hyve, the events group behind Shoptalk Luxe, Bett USA, Possible Europe, and more, seeks a Finance Analyst for Global Ventures. You’ll deliver financials for the Global Ventures Portfolio, collaborating with Event Directors to analyse revenue forecasts, track spend and build budgets aligned with show strategies.

The role covers month-end close, cost tracking, variance commentary and balance sheet reconciliations, with ad-hoc analysis for Event Leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in finance, accounting, or FP&A
• Experience with GL processes and journal entries
• Strong Excel skills; ERP experience preferred
• Exposure to Power BI or data visualization is a plus
• Comfortable communicating financial information to non-finance partners
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Self-starter who seeks to grow skills and learn in a fast-moving environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Responsibilities

• Maintain monthly budgets and rolling forecasts, flag risks and opportunities
• Prepare budget templates and update for actuals for presentations
• Coordinate monthly cost meetings and update cost trackers with actuals
• Complete month-end close and prepare accruals, journals, and prepayments
• Provide variance commentary for month-end close and forecasts
• Ensure monthly revenue reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support on-site rebooking process and tracking and provide ad-hoc data analysis

A bit about the division

Global Ventures is Hyve's dedicated accelerator unit which launches new events and supercharges new ventures. This is where event launches are born and new products are accelerated, powered by obsessive customer focus, rapid experimentation, simple decision-making and entrepreneurial energy.

A bit about the role

This position will play a key role in supporting the newly formed Global Ventures division. The Finance Analyst will be responsible for delivering the financials for the Global Ventures Portfolio, which includes Shoptalk Luxe, Bett USA, Possible Europe, LegalTechTalk USA (and many more exciting ones to come!) working closely with each Event Director to analyse revenue forecasts, track spend and develop budgets in line with the strategy of each show. The role will also support the on month end activities and ad-hoc finance support across the division.

As part of your job, you'll:

• Maintain and update budget and rolling forecast on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy, flagging any risks & opportunities
• Prepare budget template, updating for actuals, to produce presentation materials
• Coordinate monthly cost meetings with each department to ensure they are on track to achieve latest forecast, keeping cost trackers updated with actuals. Review results with Director of Finance and post accruals or any other journal corrections required to ensure risks and opportunities are factored into the rolling forecast
• Complete month end close, ensuring tracking of event costs and preparing accruals, journals and prepayments
• Provide variance commentary against budget & reforecast for the month end close reporting
• Ensure revenue reconciliations are completed monthly
• Complete monthly reviews of Open PO's, T&E expense, and ad hoc spend for each event
• Support onsite rebook process and tracking
• Prepare weekly trading submission
• Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations for working capital accounts related to Global Ventures events
• Ad hoc data analysis as required by Event Leadership and Finance

Here's what we're looking for from you:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or FP&A role
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entries
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) preferred
• Exposure to Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus
• Comfortable working directly with non-finance business partners to gather inputs and communicate financial information clearly
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and actively seeks to grow their skills
• Motivated by learning and comfortable asking questions in a fast-moving environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
