Job summary

Equipment Sales & Service Limited is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team and report to the Finance Manager. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to deliver robust, accurate monthly and weekly reporting and assist with the annual budget process.

You will support operational and commercial functions, maintain internal processes, handle ad hoc queries, and help produce monthly management accounts to required standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Qualified AAT or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Advanced skills with the full Office suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce and distribute regular reporting (monthly, weekly).
• Support Finance Partner and Finance Manager with internal processes.
• Handle ad hoc queries and ensure timely responses.
• Utilise the reporting suite to provide detailed information and suggest improvements.
• Assist in data compilation for the annual budget process.
• Assist in monthly management accounts production to required standards and deadlines.
• Maintain and document department procedures.

Job description

The role of Finance Assistant is key to our Finance operation. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will work closely with both the Finance Business Partner and Finance Manager to deliver robust and value-added accurate reporting. This role will support all the operational and commercial functions of the business,

• Produce and distribute regular (monthly, weekly) accurate and efficient reporting
• Provide support to Finance Business Partner and Finance Manager as required, ensuring effective maintenance of internal processes
• Handle ad hoc queries and ensure report requests are answered on time and accurately
• Understanding and using the existing reporting suite to provide detailed report information. Using initiative to feedback on where existing reports could be improved, proactively seeking improvement.
• Assist in the compilation of data to support the annual budget process
• Where required, assist the team in the production of the monthly management accounts, ensuring that they are produced to the standards required and within timetables suitable for both Division and Group purposes.
• Ensure appropriate department procedures are maintained, updated and documented. Qualified AAT or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Demonstrate advanced skill with the full range of Office programmes, particularly with Excel
• Previous experience of working with large datasets - Desirable
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to manage competing and changing deadlines
• Comfortable with challenge and ability to priorities ad hoc work
