The Vacancy

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. IRW’s Finance Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Finance Analyst’ to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in Birmingham, UK. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.

Job Purpose

The role holder will support the Corporate Reporting Team in providing a first-class service to the group with a key aspect of the role being developing the way the department produces analysis and uses financial information to support decision making and achievement of the company’s strategic objective.

  • Development and production of reports, supporting the organisation with managing Income and Expenditure
  • Building the relationships to effectively influence and challenge Business decisions, strategy, and outcomes.
  • Ownership of the timely, insightful, and accurate management reporting for the Corporate Finance Division including analysis to provide clear outcomes.
  • Development and production of Corporate Finance KPI, Budget vs Actual and Dashboard Reporting
  • In collaboration with non-finance stakeholders, the Business Partnering Analyst will play a pivotal role in analysing financial and non-financial management information needs.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and interpret annual budgets and KPIs.
  • Assist in ad-hoc financial modelling, reporting, and presentations.
  • Contribute to business modelling and strategy through comprehensive analysis.
  • Conduct gap analysis on business performance, staff experience, and project delivery.
  • Provide Management with ad-hoc reporting analysis as required.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

  • Demonstrated excellent commercial acumen with significant analytics experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Aptitude for Digital Insights/Analytics.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate value-add process improvements.
  • Experience working with all levels of management.
  • Successful track record of operating under pressure; handling sensitive and confidential information and delivering credible service.
  • Application of strong technical/analytic skills (Excel based), modelling etc.
  • Report developing Experience of using Microsoft Power Bi and Unit 4 software (desirable).
  • Strong time management skills, adept at working calmly under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Good all round business acumen and an understanding of the role of the Finance department in adding value to operational decision making.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, be self-motivated with high energy.
  • Ability to coordinate and provide support to cross functional teams.
  • Experience of budgeting for project activities, monitor and report on financial activities and undertaken appropriate analysis.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to form working relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to understand and explain complex issues to non-finance & finance specialists.
  • Ability to analyse complex information, understand the implications and make clear recommendations.
