Job summary

Montu UK is a growing digital health company operating a high-volume, online-based pharmacy in Winnersh. We are seeking an experienced Accuracy Checking Dispenser to join a busy, supportive team and ensure every prescription leaving the pharmacy is accurate and safe for patients.

You will perform final accuracy checks, verify patient details, medicines, strengths, quantities and directions, and uphold labeling accuracy while adhering to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Accredited Accuracy Checking Dispenser qualification recognised for pharmacy dispensing practice.
• Experience carrying out final accuracy checks within a pharmacy environment.
• Strong understanding of the dispensing process and preventing medication errors.
• Knowledge of pharmacy legislation, SOPs, governance and patient safety.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when working at pace.
• Confidence to challenge something when it does not look right and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Ability to work independently while understanding the boundaries of your role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy pharmacy team.
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.
• A genuine focus on the patient and the quality of care they receive.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions before medication is supplied to patients.
• Checking the right patient, medicine, strength, formulation, quantity and directions.
• Ensuring all labelling is accurate and appropriate.
• Checking that medicines have been assembled in line with prescriptions, SOPs, legal requirements and internal processes.
• Identifying and escalating discrepancies, near misses and potential dispensing errors.
• Using professional judgement and knowing when something needs to be referred to the Responsible Pharmacist.
• Supporting safe checking of controlled drugs, unlicensed medicines and higher-risk medications.
• Completing expiry date, batch number and packaging integrity checks where required.
• Maintaining clear and accurate records of checks completed.
• Working closely with dispensers, pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team to resolve queries quickly and safely.
• Supporting quality improvements and helping continually improve the way we work.
• Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues across the pharmacy.
• Keeping up to date with SOPs, regulatory requirements and best practice.
