Princes Group in Cardiff is seeking a motivated Filler Operative to join our Production Team. This hands‑on role operates filling and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient production of finished products.

The position involves a rotating day and night shift pattern within a busy manufacturing environment, with opportunities to develop skills within a supportive and growing business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
• Ability to complete records accurately with good literacy and numeracy.
• Flexible approach to shift work and a positive, reliable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling machinery safely to meet production targets.
• Carry out cleaning, sterilisation and routine maintenance.
• Complete pre-production, safety and quality checks and document accurately.
• Monitor machine performance and minimise waste.
• Ensure correct packaging materials and accurate product coding.
• Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards with a 'clean as you go' approach.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders to achieve production plans.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Support site delivery and technical teams to ensure compliance.

Role Description

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Filler Operative to join our Production Team. This is a hands-on role operating filling and packaging equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of finished products.

Working as part of a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for maintaining production standards, minimising waste, completing quality checks and ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. The role involves working a rotating day and night shift pattern and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate filling machinery safely and efficiently to achieve production targets.
• Carry out cleaning, sterilisation and routine machine maintenance activities.
• Complete pre- production, safety and quality checks, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained.
• Monitor machine performance and minimise product and packaging waste.
• Ensure the correct packaging materials are used and product coding is accurate.
• Report equipment issues, spillages, defects or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through a "clean as you go" approach.
• Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to ensure production plans are achieved.
• Follow all food safety, quality, health and safety, and hygiene procedures.
• This role supports the overall site delivery and Technical teams to ensure quality, legality, food safety, brand integrity and culture is driven and compliant.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
• Experience operating machinery would be advantageous.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to complete records accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to shift work.
• Positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
