Job summary

MacGregor Industrial Supplies in Inverness is seeking a Field & Workshop Service Technician to diagnose, service and repair compressors, pressure washers and related hire equipment. You’ll work both in the workshop and on customer sites, with in-house training to build knowledge across our equipment range.

You will perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics, pre-delivery safety checks, and prepare accurate job tickets and service records while coordinating parts and quotes.

Qualifications

• Practical mechanical and/or electrical servicing and repair experience.

• Identifying the parts needed and working with colleagues to organise repairs and customer quotes.

• Completing clear, accurate job tickets, timesheets and service records.
• Keeping your work area, tools and allocated vehicle safe and well maintained.
• Responding to urgent customer callouts during working hours and supporting other branches when required.

Working both in the workshop and on customer sites, you’ll diagnose, service and repair compressors, pressure washers and other hire and customer equipment. From tracking down a fault to testing a completed repair, you’ll see the difference your work makes every day. In-house training will be provided, helping you build your product knowledge and develop your skills across our equipment range.

What you’ll be doing

• A methodical approach to fault finding and a willingness to learn.
• Good organisation and the ability to manage your workload.
• A friendly, professional approach with customers and colleagues.
• A commitment to safe working and accurate record keeping.
• A full driving licence for travel to customer sites.
• Experience with compressors or pressure washers would be useful, but we welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills.
