Job summary

Ancala Water Services is seeking a Water Network Technician / Leakage Inspector to manage leakage detection and water accounting across Devon, Wiltshire and Somerset. This field-based, permanent role involves monitoring performance, collecting data and using logging equipment to reduce losses.

The position requires problem solving, strong communication and HM safety awareness. It offers 37 hours weekly, a stand-by rota and a generous benefits package including leave, pension and health plans.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water supply configurations and hydraulics using site plans and schematics.
• Knowledge of leakage detection equipment such as correlators, cat and genny, acoustic logging and ground-mics.
• Extensive technical expertise in accounting for consumption and leakage.
• Knowledge of testing and inspecting fire hydrants and configuring pressure and flow loggers (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Account for 100% of water supplied to sites and identify leakage events.
• Carry out leak detection on MOD sites and monitor leakage systems, collect data.
• Record site data and feed back to demand management.
• Install and maintain flow and pressure data logging equipment.
• Capture all site data via on-site investigations.
• Escalate risks to the business including water quality and safety concerns.
