Job summary

Gi Group is hiring Water Meter Readers to collect data from water meters at various sites across the region. This full-time outdoor role offers flexible start times, an 8am–8pm window, and a weekly pay cycle.

Role involves walking daily, handling manholes, and using handheld devices to record readings. No experience required; training provided, with several earning boosts including a monthly bonus and potential company car.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence - min 1 year, max 6 points, no DR offences.
• Physically fit - expect to walk 5–6 miles per day, lift manholes, climb stairs, crouch in tight spaces.
• Clear DBS check (no unspent convictions).
• Credit report check (no county court judgements, IVA, debt relief orders in last 6 years).
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from water meters at domestic, commercial and industrial sites.
• Update meter reads on handheld device, both on-site and remotely.
• Provide excellent customer service during visits.
