Job summary

SocialCru Ltd is seeking experienced Smart Meter Engineers for field-based work across the UK. You will install, commission, and maintain smart gas and electric meters in residential properties, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You’ll diagnose faults, perform safety checks, and keep precise digital records while communicating clearly with customers. The role requires independent fieldwork, safety awareness, and collaboration with the operations team to meet targets and uphold high

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in smart meter installation, commissioning, and maintenance within gas and/or electricity environments.
• Strong technical skills in fault finding, diagnostic testing, and safe use of metering tools and equipment.
• Thorough understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements in utility metering.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical work in clear, accessible language.
• Ability to work independently on-site, manage schedules efficiently, and complete accurate digital job documentation.
• Relevant metering or engineering qualifications (Smart Metering, electrical or gas certifications) and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience working on utility or energy sector contracts, with a track record of high-quality, professional service delivery.
• Commitment to health and safety, attention to detail, and readiness to adapt to new technologies and working practices.
