Job description

Due to business growth, my client, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, has an immediate requirement for a Field Service Engineer to join their existing team. The successful Field Service Engineer must have a strong multi-skilled engineering background with experience working on compressed air systems, fans, motors, and pumps. The candidate will also spend 1 week a month working in the manufacturing workshop.

Please note, this role covers locations across the UK, requiring overnight stays Monday to Friday, so flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Travel to customer sites across the UK to service and maintain electromechanical equipment.
2. Attend customer sites to perform fault finding, servicing, maintenance, repairs, and installations.
3. Liaise with customers to ensure work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements:

1. Relevant recognised engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering, minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent (ideally electrical NVQ Level 3).
2. 18th Edition wiring regulations – advantageous.
3. Experience with PLCs and 3-phase motors – preferred.
4. Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
5. Flexibility to be away overnight from Monday to Friday.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.
