Job Summary

The Field Services Engineer diagnoses and repairs IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, peripherals, and POS systems at various customer locations around South London / south of the River Thames. Responsible for providing hardware support, installations, moves, and changes across client sites.

Location: South London / South of the River Thames

Salary: £27,000 to £29,000 (depending on experience), plus a company car and fuel card.

On-Call Pay: £44/night for OOH on-call or £308/week plus overtime at 1.5x if called out.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to various customer sites to provide IT support services.
• Support a range of IT hardware including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, peripherals, and POS systems.
• Perform onsite installations and troubleshooting of hardware and software products.
• Obtain and maintain vendor certifications as required.
• Follow documented procedures and contribute feedback for improvement.
• Adhere to safety and ESD precautions.
• Complete documentation and provide timely updates after each site visit.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including mornings, evenings, and weekends (additional allowances apply).
• Support wider IT teams within the department.
• Work overtime as needed to meet contractual requirements, with overtime rates applicable.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware devices.
• Ability to install and configure software per customer needs.
• Hold current vendor certifications (Dell, Lenovo, IBM, HP).
• Good understanding of hardware maintenance and repair.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Must obtain or hold UK security clearances (SC, NPPV3) as required.
• Attention to detail and quality focus.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Methodical, with a right-first-time approach.
