We offer a broad array of scanning system configurations that leverage low-, medium-, and high-energy X-ray technology—or multiple X-ray technologies—to address each customer’s unique security application requirements. Our commitment to excellence in imaging performance, innovative design, and uncompromising quality ensures our solutions consistently deliver best-in-class imaging, high reliability, and operator satisfaction, to help customers find threats and contraband with ease and confidence.

  • Installation, commissioning, and service support of Rapiscan’s X-ray, CT, Checkpoint, and Trace systems at customer premises, primarily in the Scotland & Newcastle areas, with occasional travel throughout the UK and overseas.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on-site at customer locations in EMEA.
  • Conduct service site surveys before installations and prepare professional site reports.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and attend all call-outs.
  • Work on shifts to support key customer sites.
  • Provide remote technical support to distributors' engineers and customers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners on service-related matters, providing guidance as needed.
  • Submit service and non-conformance reports promptly.
  • Provide feedback to engineering, product management, and QA for continuous improvement.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned as needed to meet business requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MS Windows-based servers and workstations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of high-end X-ray systems or computed tomography is a major advantage.
  • Experience programming PLCs is an advantage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex systems and logical problem-solving abilities.

  • Postgraduate qualification in electrical engineering is desirable.
  • Recognized IT qualifications (Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
  • General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronic, or complex electro-mechanical systems, or knowledge of HV systems in medical or industrial engineering disciplines.
