Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Portsmouth is seeking a Field Service Technician to service fire curtain systems. This permanent role covers sites such as commercial buildings, shopping centres and airports, with emergency callouts and on-site upgrades.

You will work as part of a team, travel and stay away as required, with weekend overtime available. The ideal candidate has electrical and/or mechanical knowledge, a full UK driving license and good customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems is essential.
• Full UK driving license is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office software (e.g., Word, Excel) is expected.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Able to work nights and weekends as required.
• Must be able to pass a DBS check.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Resident of the Portsmouth area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine scheduled maintenance.
• Work in pairs with the leading engineer.
• Respond to breakdowns and faults and perform first time fixes.
• Diagnose problems and fit new parts; ensure equipment works before sign-off.
• Liaise with client departments and colleagues across teams.
• Handle emergencies and unplanned repairs.
• Manage van stock and maintain PPE in good order.
• Complete timesheets/expenses on time.
• Record work using approved processes and forms.
• Ensure all reports are filled accurately.
