This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established local business that designs, manufactures and tests turbochargers supplied into the power generation, marine and rail traction industries.

Extensive travel and work in the field including Service, Repair & Application support of Napier Turbochargers in the UK & abroad.

Work will be required within the Napier facility when not in the field, to support customer product training and business requirements.

A training matrix will allow the development/training to take place for the technician in house at our facility. This will allow adequate training in build, balance and overhaul duties over a 6 to 24 month period (dependant on experience) to gain the confidence and skills to introduce the technician into the field, to assist our Field Service Engineering with onsite duties. After a successful period of carrying out field service work, the technician will graduate to a Field Service Engineer.

Qualifications:

- Recognised time served Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3

Experience:

- Knowledge of turbocharger operation and medium speed diesel engines would be advantageous

Skills:

- Be self-motivated and have good communication skills, both verbal and written

- Show good timekeeping

- Have a good awareness of the importance of a safe working environment and duties to oneself and others within the company's HSE policy

- Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings and use a variety of calibrated measuring equipment

- Successful candidate will be the face of Napier at site and must uphold the companies standing in the industry

- A full drivers license and valid passport are essential
