Job summary

Kingston Barnes Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Field Service Fitter to join an established engineering business specialising in pumps and rotating equipment. The role combines workshop and field work, with responsibilities spanning inspection, refurbishment, repair and testing.

You will travel to customer sites, read engineering drawings, fault-find electrical and mechanical issues, and work with a diesel pump sets.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship, relevant qualification or time-served experience.
• Experience with pumps, rotating equipment and/or diesel pump sets.
• Experience with electric motors and control equipment.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding pump equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical inspection, testing and fault finding.
• Repair and maintenance of diesel engine-driven pump sets.
• Measuring components and identifying spare parts from drawings.
• Completing inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Assembly and testing of pumps and equipment.
• Carrying out field service work at customer sites.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
