Advanced Machinery Services Ltd (AMS) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover Southern England, ideally near Oxford or Reading. You will service, repair and install woodworking machinery on customer sites, travelling regularly and occasionally staying away overnight.

The role offers a competitive salary with overtime and a company vehicle. You will diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service, mechanical engineering or electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose electronic faults.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• A full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay away overnight.
• Experience with industrial or woodworking machinery would be an advantage; ideally live near Oxford or Reading for regional travel.

Location Field-based across Southern England, ideally based near Oxford or Reading

Head office Skeffington, Leicestershire, LE7 9YE

Salary £34,000-£36,000 depending on experience, plus overtime, commission and benefits (£44,000-£52,000 OTE)

Hours Full time, 40 hours per week

Are you a Field Service Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills? Join Advanced Machinery Services Ltd (AMS) and help customers keep all different brand of woodworking machinery running.

AMS have recently acquired the Leadermac Uk & Ireland main dealership, bringing new machines and additional opportunities to the right candidate.

The role

You’ll service, repair, maintain and install specialist woodworking machinery at customer sites across Southern England and occasionally further afield. You’ll work independently on site, with technical support from an experienced service team.

The role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays. AMS covers travel, accommodation and work-related expenses.

About you

• Proven experience in field service, mechanical engineering or electrical and mechanical engineering

AMS is the main UK and Ireland dealer for Leadermac, which manufactures industrial woodworking machinery including four-sided moulders and multi-rip saws. You’ll service and repair Leadermac equipment as part of the AMS field service team.

AMS supplies, installs and maintains woodworking machinery for customers ranging from small workshops to major manufacturers.
