Advanced Machinery Services Ltd (AMS) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to diagnose and repair a range of woodworking machinery across Southern England. You will service, install and test equipment, travel to customer sites, and support the head office with timely paperwork and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, a full UK driving licence, and the flexibility for overnight stays when needed.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience in electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Ability to diagnose electronic and electrical faults.
• Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Experience with industrial or woodworking machinery is advantageous.

Field Service Engineer - Woodworking Machinery

Location Field-based across Southern England, ideally based near Oxford or Reading

Head office Skeffington, Leicestershire, LE7 9YE

Salary £34,000-£36,000 depending on experience, plus overtime, commission and benefits (£44,000-£52,000 OTE)

Hours Full time, 40 hours per week

AMS have recently acquired the Leadermac Uk & Ireland main dealership, bringing new machines and additional opportunities to the right candidate.

The role

• Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults
• Service, repair and install specialist woodworking machinery
• Fit replacement parts and test equipment before returning it to service
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts
• Liaise with the service department at head office and complete service paperwork promptly
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
• Support the head office workshop team when required

The role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays. AMS covers travel, accommodation and work-related expenses.

About you

• Proven experience in field service, mechanical engineering or electrical and mechanical engineering
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose electronic faults
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• A full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK
• Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay away overnight
• Experience with industrial or woodworking machinery would be an advantage. Ideally, you'll live near Oxford or Reading for travel across the region.

About AMS and Leadermac

AMS is the main UK and Ireland dealer for Leadermac, which manufactures industrial woodworking machinery including four-sided moulders and multi-rip saws. You'll service and repair Leadermac equipment as part of the AMS field service team.

AMS supplies, installs and maintains woodworking machinery for customers ranging from small workshops to major manufacturers.
