Job summary

Catering in Colchester is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the field service team. You will install, commission and maintain mechanical equipment at customer sites across the UK, with regular travel and overnight stays.

Training and long-term development are highlighted benefits. The role requires a recognised mechanical apprenticeship and City & Guilds or equivalent qualification, plus strong fault-finding skills and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fitting and maintenance experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel/stay away when required.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission mechanical equipment on customer sites.
• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs.
• Perform mechanical fault finding and diagnosis.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare survey reports.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with customers and colleagues to deliver projects safely.
• Travel across the UK with regular overnight stays.
• Support workshop activities when required.
