Job summary

Field Service Engineer is sought for a field-based role in St Helens, covering nationwide travel across the UK. You will work on maintenance, servicing and refurbishment of industrial processing equipment, split between workshops and client sites.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industry, with a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays and weekends.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering or mechanical qualification.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing or processing environments.
• Practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Excellent time management and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on industrial milling, pelleting and processing equipment.
• Refurbish and upgrade used machinery within the refurbishment facility.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Attend customer sites across the UK to complete servicing, maintenance and breakdown work.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and communicate recommendations to customers and internal teams.
• Work safely and efficiently to meet customer deadlines and service level expectations.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service while working independently and as part of the wider engineering team.
