Job summary

CES Power is seeking an experienced Generator Field Service Engineer to maintain, service and repair generators at customer sites across the region. You will diagnose faults, provide practical solutions, and minimise downtime while travelling to sites and joining the on-call rota.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong communication, and a proactive, independent approach. A valid license and your own tools are important for efficient, first-time fixes.

Qualifications

• NVQ L3 or City and Guilds equivalent electrical and/or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in power engineering or a similar industry.
• Own tools are required for daily field work.
• A valid driver's license is essential for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair a range of generators to ensure performance and reliability.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot to minimise downtime, escalating to the Technical Team when needed.
• Be part of the on-call rota and travel to customer sites as required.
• Work independently, prioritise tasks and ensure van stock and tools are ready for first-time fixes.

About Your Role

If you are an experienced and skilled, hands-on Generator Field Service Engineer with a keen eye for detail and are looking for a new challenge where you can make a real impact, this role is for you!

With your strong communication skills, and proactive approach, we are looking for you to come join our fantastic team at CES Power! You'll be the go-to expert for maintaining, servicing and repairing generators at our valued customer sites, which will bring a mix of troubleshoot i ng, problem solving and travel.

What you'll be doing

• You will undertake maintenance, servicing and repairs on a range of generators to ensure performance and reliability.

• With your problem solving abilities, you will diagnose and troubleshoot faults, providing solutions to minimise downtime, or escape to the Technical Team for additional support if things are a little tricker.

• You will support the business with being part of the on-call rota.

• Safely travel to customer sites and carry out planned, and reactive work, delivering great customer service and support, whatever the event.

• As someone who can work independently, you will prioritise your workload, and ensure that your van is also stocked up, to ensure you have the right tools for the job to maximise first time fixes, every time.
