Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Small Tools)

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire (accepting applications from surrounding counties)

Salary: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30 / 17:00

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Overtime: Available at 1.5x

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and fix issues with garden and groundcare equipment, ensuring efficient operation.
2. Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.
3. Engage directly with customers: Communicate effectively to understand needs, provide solutions, and deliver high-quality service.
4. Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed logs of repairs, services, and parts used for transparency and accountability.
5. Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety procedures: Follow guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
6. Assist the Branch Service Manager: Support operational goals and service excellence.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience working with garden, groundcare, agricultural, or related machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills with diagnostic capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
• Customer service mindset: Committed to providing outstanding service and building relationships.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented: Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Valid UK driving licence: Required for travel to customer sites and other locations.
