Sulzer is a leading engineering company seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Gas Compression team. This hands-on mechanical role covers installation, maintenance, overhaul, and commissioning of gas compression and rotating equipment across diverse customer sites in the UK and abroad. Location: Flexible - UK Wide.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification.
• Proven experience maintaining, overhauling, commissioning, or repairing rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Flexible approach to travel, including frequent UK and international assignments and offshore work.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsabilités

• Install, remove, repair, commission, and maintain rotating equipment at customer sites across the UK and internationally.
• Carry out mechanical inspections, dismantling, fault diagnosis, and condition assessments of compressors and rotating equipment.
• Produce detailed inspection, service, and commissioning reports using standard documentation and reporting systems.
• Reassemble, test, and commission equipment in line with OEM specifications and engineering best practices.
• Work safely in accordance with Sulzer and customer HSE procedures.
• Provide technical expertise to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and high-quality service.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, workshop, and project teams to deliver outcomes.
