Field Service Engineer - Robotics and Mechatronics

The Company

A leading and highly respected manufacturer of robotic packaging machines, specialising in high-speed packaging for the food, confectionery, pharma, and cosmetics industries. As the company grows its UK footprint, it is looking for an experienced service engineer to join the team and support its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Service in the UK, the successful candidate will have a background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and be skilled at working under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. This role provides an opportunity to join a global leader in its field that has strong growth ambitions for its business and its team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and corrective action planning for the company’s equipment within customer sites.
  • Work collaboratively with customer contacts to build strong and proactive customer relationships.
  • Engage with customer-based operatives and maintenance staff to lead training and development programmes.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Champion the company’s commitment to excellence in customer service throughout the customer journey.
  • Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.

Requirements

  • Higher qualification (HND or above) in Engineering.
  • Background and experience in Mechatronics and/or Electronics.
  • Knowledge of automation within the food industry is desirable.
  • Proven experience and success in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Strong credentials in successfully engaging customer stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, clear communicator with a passion for building long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Ability to travel across the UK and Ireland for on-site servicing and installations including some overnight stays where necessary.
