Job summary

Carrier Rental Systems is seeking a skilled Service Engineer in Walsall to repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment, including pumps and generators, across depot and field environments. The role emphasizes health and safety, regulatory compliance, and safe, reliable operations.

The ideal candidate has mechanical experience with plant equipment and holds NVQ Level 3 or an M&E apprenticeship, plus a Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience with plant equipment, pumps, generators, and diesel engines.
• NVQ Level 3 or an M&E apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair pumps, generators, and diesel-powered equipment at depot and on-site.
• Prepare equipment at depot to ensure it is fully operational before deployment.
• Carry out major overhauls and refurbishments of end-of-life equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Travel to customer sites and participate in an on-call rota (1 week in 4).
