Konecranes moves what matters. We are a global leader in material handling solutions, serving ports and terminals across the UK.

This field-based role covers installation, commissioning, inspection and repair of Port Solutions equipment such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers, with travel across the UK coast. Ideal candidates will be based in northern England (Newcastle, Gateshead or Teesside preferred) and must be willing to spend up to two weeks away from home.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering, with practical competence in both.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics.
• Experience of Siemens S7 desirable.
• Organised and self-motivated.
• Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics.
• Familiar with PUWER and LOLER.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work at height.
• Able to spend periods away from home (up to two weeks at a time).

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solutions products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, in electrical and mechanical equipment, drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment
• Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues
• Accurate and descriptive problem reporting
• Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate
