Job summary

Atlas Copco in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and troubleshoot a range of technical equipment at customer sites, ensuring systems run efficiently. This hands-on role is varied and field-based, with on‑site customer liaison, service visits, on‑call duties and mentoring of apprentices, all while upholding high health and safety standards.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are required, with ongoing learning and development

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a hands-on environment.
• Excellent communication with customers and ability to build relationships.
• Good organisation and time management across multiple jobs.
• Commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and overnight stays when required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and providing effective solutions.
• Working closely with customers and contractors on-site.
• Coordinating with the service team to plan and deliver service visits.
• Participating in an on-call rota with fellow engineers.
• Providing technical advice, support, and training to customers.
• Completing accurate service reports and documentation.
• Keeping up to date with product developments and industry standards.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.
