Job summary

John F Hunt Power Limited in Aldridge is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the depot with servicing and maintenance of generators. The role is predominantly field-based with some yard work as required.

We offer a competitive salary, 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, and a company service vehicle, mobile phone and laptop to help you perform duties. An on-call rota including bank holidays is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ in plant maintenance/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in generator/plant hire industry.
• Ability to prioritise workload to ensure weekly service schedules are completed on time.
• Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision.
• Able to communicate on all levels and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing and maintenance on generators both onsite and in the depot.
• Fault finding on control panels and AC/DC electrical systems.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs.
• On-call rota including Bank Holidays.
• Liaising directly with customers.
• Daily defects report for company vehicle roadworthiness.
• Completing paperwork related to equipment maintenance (service sheets, PDI sheets).
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our busy depot in Aldridge.

As a Field Service Engineer you will be the expected to support the Depot Foreman with all day to day engineering requirements of the depot. In this role you be predominately field based, with some yard-based work as and when the business requires.

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:

• Carrying out all servicing and maintenance work on generators both out onsite and in the depot

• Mechanical and Electrical repairs
• Out of hours on call Rota (to include Bank Holidays)
• Liaising directly with customers

• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times

Desired skills and experience:
