Job summary

Interaction Technical is partnering with a well-established engineering business to recruit a Mechanical Field Service Engineer for regional field-based work across important industrial sites. You’ll install, service, and repair specialist mechanical equipment while conducting fault-finding and commissioning with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical engineering, maintenance, service, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on industrial machinery, plant equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, or similar mechanical systems.
• A proactive and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently whilst managing site-based activities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on customer sites.
• Conduct equipment inspections and service visits.
• Complete service reports and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support.

The Role

As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of specialist mechanical equipment at customer sites. Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team, you will carry out planned maintenance, fault-finding, breakdown repairs, and commissioning activities, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
