Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a London-based specialist engineering and technical services firm. You will service, maintain, repair and install specialist equipment at customer sites, with a salary of £51,000 and a company vehicle.

The role requires travel across London and surrounding areas, strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage a field-based workload.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout London and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on specialist equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and service call-outs.
• Install, commission, and test new equipment.
• Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers.
• Ensure work is completed in line with company and industry standards.
• Maintain excellent customer service while working on-site.
