Job summary

McHale Komatsu is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Service team, covering Ayrshire, Dumfries Galloway, Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Reporting to our Hamilton Depot, you will service, maintain and repair construction equipment at customer sites, ensuring machines stay safe, reliable and performing at peak.

You’ll manage your own workload with support from our Service, Parts and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience on heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and auto-electrics.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.
• Complete service reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Undertake other duties as required.
