Job summary

McHale Komatsu is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair construction equipment at customer sites across Ayrshire, Dumfries Galloway, Glasgow and surrounding areas. You will report to the Hamilton Depot and manage your own workload while supported by our Service teams.

The role includes attending breakdowns, planned servicing, diagnostics on engines, hydraulics and auto-electrics, delivering high workmanship and customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience working on heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and auto-electrics.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
