Job summary

McHale Komatsu, a leading UK construction equipment distributor, is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Service team. The role covers Ayrshire, Dumfries Galloway, Glasgow and surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Hamilton Depot, you will service, maintain and repair construction equipment at customer sites, ensuring machines remain safe, reliable and operating at peak performance. You will manage your own workload with support from our experienced Service, Parts and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience working on heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and auto-electrics.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
