Job summary

McHale Komatsu in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service, repair and maintain construction equipment at customer sites across the Yeovil area. You will manage your own workload with support from our Service, Parts and Operations teams.

The role offers a company van, a competitive benefits package including pension, life cover and ongoing training. NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent and heavy plant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience working on heavy plant or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, transmissions and auto-electrics.
• Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
