Job Description
A Field Service Engineer is home based and is assigned to a specific geographical area (East Midlands region) but may be required to support incident, change, release, and problem management activities in any area. The engineer will remain contactable via telephone and pager during working hours, including on-call hours, and will be part of the on-call rota. Security clearance to Home Office SC level and NPPV3 is required.
When attending site, the engineer must remain polite, courteous, and professional, complying with local access, health and safety, and security rules.
The role involves providing first-line support for communications equipment deployed within the Emergency Services customer base, located in control rooms and vehicles. Initially working alongside experienced staff, the engineer will eventually work independently, focusing on incident management and service restoration. The successful candidate will join a team managing communications command and control systems, infrastructure, and terminals.
