Job Description:

Our client is a leading supplier of CNC machinery. Due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of CNC machinery throughout the UK.

The Role:

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of machinery including CNC routers, cutting, and bending machinery. Duties include:

1. Mechanical maintenance activities such as removal and replacement of worn components like chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.
2. Fault finding and repair on hydraulics and pneumatics.
3. Electrical maintenance including fault finding and repair on 3-phase motors, servos, and 24V circuits. Ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential.
4. Assist with machine installation and commissioning.

Candidate:

We seek applicants with strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills, ideally with at least three years of maintenance experience and good knowledge of CNC machinery.

You should be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with excellent 3-phase electrical fault-finding and repair skills, and competent in PLC fault-finding and repair/interrogation.

This is a field engineer role; you should be prepared to stay away from home up to 3-4 nights per week if required.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week plus overtime.

Competitive salary £45K - £55K plus overtime, 'door-to-door' pay, company car, 33 days annual leave, and pension.
