Job summary

Trina Solar is seeking an on-site engineering professional to perform preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis on Battery Energy Storage Systems, renewables, and LV electrical infrastructure. You will work responsibly under RAMS, conduct safety-driven activities, and report on-site findings with accuracy.

Responsibilities include commissioning support, functional testing, site energisation checks, and delivering robust documentation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Renewables, LV electrical systems and industrial power systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Compliance: Work in line with UK legislation and site requirements; perform RAMS; ensure electrical safety and LOTO; report hazards and near misses.
• Preventative Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance on BESS installations; inspect enclosures, PCS, transformers, switchgear, HVAC, fire and monitoring systems; maintain documentation.
• Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve faults; perform root cause analysis; replace defective components; coordinate with support and engineering teams.
• Commissioning & Testing: Assist site commissioning; conduct functional testing and electrical verification; support energisation and grid testing; produce commissioning reports.
• Remote Monitoring & Support: Use SCADA to investigate alarms and performance issues; handle customer queries; escalate critical issues.
• Documentation & Reporting: Complete service reports; maintain records of work, parts, and recommendations; update technical documentation.
• Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical on-site representative; build relationships with customers, contractors and suppliers; deliver professional service.
