Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to repair, refurbish, install and commission end-of-line packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland. You will work with Siemens PLCs, fault finding, and upgrade activities, bringing multi-skilled electrical/electronic capabilities to the role.

The position requires spending 2–3 nights away weekly and one weekend per month, with home-based flexibility and occasional HQ training in Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Field Service Engineer with hands-on packaging machinery experience in food and/or beverage sectors.
• Multi-skilled engineer with electrical & electronic qualifications and PLC fault finding/upgrading experience.
• Experience with fault finding, modifying and upgrading Siemens PLCs or similar in end-of-line packaging machinery.

Responsibilities

• Repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of end-of-line packaging machinery.
• Work with PLCs, fault finding and upgrade activities.
• Travel UK and Ireland; spending 2–3 nights per week away from home and one weekend per month.

Job description

A great Field Service Engineer role! We want to find an accomplished and qualified Multi-skilled Engineer who has specific experience of fault finding AND ideally, specifically of modifying and upgrading of Siemens PLC`s (or similar) used in end of line packaging machinery.

BASIC SALARY: up to £50,000

BENEFITS

LOCATION: Home based and ideally living in the Midlands or North of England (although Midlands preferable)

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Stoke, Sheffield, Leicester

JOB DESCRIPTION

A classic Field Service Engineer role involving repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of end of line packaging machinery including working with PLC`s, ideally capable of fault finding, modifying and upgrading of Siemens PLC`s, or similar.

You will be covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, and will be expected to spend 2 to 3 nights per week away from home, plus working one weekend a month on average.

• Full training will be offered on the job and occasionally at HQ in Europe.
• Full training will also be provided on upgrading & modifying PLC`s.
• Overtime is paid door to door.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• You MUST have a proven track record as a Field Service Engineer with hands on packaging machinery experience working in the food and/or beverage markets.
• You will be a Multi-skilled Engineer with electrical & electronic engineering qualifications and ideally specific experience and training on fault finding, modifying & upgrading of Siemens PLC`s, or similar.
• We will consider applicants with a track record as a Factory Maintenance Engineer who have hands on end of line packaging machinery experience, used in the food and/or beverage market and who have the PLC knowledge mentioned above.
