FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Northampton area base - UK and European Coverage

Our client, based near Northampton, is part of an established group specializing in bespoke materials handling solutions for diverse customers and industry sectors worldwide. Due to ongoing success and strategic growth, they are seeking a dynamic, multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to join their professional engineering team. The role involves installing and maintaining handling solutions and supporting customers across the UK and internationally as required.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will perform reactive and PPM activities on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role requires thriving in a customer-facing environment where high-quality service and satisfaction are paramount.

After initial training on Health and Safety and working at height, the engineer will carry out service calls on a planned preventative and reactive basis, undertaking maintenance and repairs of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer systems. Clear communication with customers, reporting activities and faults, and training customers and their technicians are essential parts of the role.

The engineer will also assist with installation and commissioning of machinery, working independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrating flexibility and initiative. Experience in a similar plant and equipment maintenance environment, particularly with materials handling and automatic process equipment, is preferred. A solid mechanical background and multi-skilled experience are essential.
