Job description

Overview

A successful Field Service Engineer will drive for excellence in customer satisfaction, enjoy troubleshooting and setting up complex systems, and have a passion for learning new technology. Lutron offers a broad portfolio of services to support our customers from initial design through implementation, ongoing management, and continual improvement of their total light environment.

In this position, you will be a key part of our expanding Field Service team, acting as the Lutron expert at customer sites to ensure that our advanced lighting systems are properly commissioned and serviced post-installation. This role is essential to our customer-focused business model, as customers are the foundation of our business.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exemplary service to Lutron customers across the UK.
  • Become proficient in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing Lutron Systems following field service procedures.
  • Coordinate with on-site contractors, lighting designers, and facility managers to ensure proper system installation and handover.
  • Sell Lutron’s service products, such as service contracts and system upgrades.
  • Support Lutron's Technical Support team when needed.
  • Participate in Customer Education sessions.
  • Assist in project management and coordination, including reviewing submittals to ensure data accuracy and comprehensive coverage of all areas/lighting.
  • This role involves regular travel across the UK, with travel comprising approximately 75% of working time.

Qualifications

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science is desirable.
  2. Extensive experience in electrical work and construction sites is required.
  3. Previous experience in lighting/AV commissioning is essential.
  4. Knowledge of lighting controls, building management systems, or computer networking is required.
  5. Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  6. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  8. Valid Driver’s license.
  9. Fluency in English; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
