Job summary

Aspion Search is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well established electrical engineering company based in Liverpool. The role involves servicing, inspection and maintenance of electrical switchgear across the UK.

You will undertake protection relay testing and fault diagnosis, travel to client sites, and stay away when required. A minimum HNC in electrical engineering and at least two years of field service experience are expected, with opportunities for overseas assignments.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering qualification to a minimum of HNC or equivalent.
• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship preferred.
• At least 2 years' Field Service Engineer experience.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and fault finding on Electrical switchgear.
• Travel UK/overseas and stay away when required.
• Proficient in MS Office and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical switchgear and associated equipment.
• Undertake complex protection relay testing, fault finding and upgrades.
• Investigate switchgear breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Deliver switchgear upgrades and life extension projects.
• Prepare project-specific risk assessments and method statements.
• Provide technical support and quotations for service work.
• Complete accurate technical reports and service documentation.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at company premises and customer sites.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-outs when required.

About the Company

Aspion Search is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well established Electrical engineering company based in Liverpool.

They work with major blue chip clients across the industrial and commercial sectors.

This is an opportunity for an Electrically qualified Engineer with switchgear and complex protection relay experience to work on varied projects across the UK, with opportunities for overseas assignments.

Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer

• Carry out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical switchgear and associated equipment.
• Undertake complex protection relay testing, fault finding and upgrades.
• Investigate switchgear breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Deliver switchgear upgrades and life extension projects.
• Prepare project-specific risk assessments and method statements.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers, assisting with quotations for service work.
• Complete accurate technical reports and service documentation.

Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

• Electrical Engineering qualification to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent
• Ideally, a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
• At least 2 years experience in a Field Service Engineer role
• Previous experience servicing, maintaining and fault finding on Electrical switchgear
• Experience working with complex protection relays, including testing and fault diagnosis
• Ability to work independently, solve technical problems and manage changing priorities
• Experience producing technical reports and using Microsoft Office
• Passport and Full UK Driving Licence
• Happy to travel to customer sites across the UK and overseas and stay away when required
