Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Leeds to service, maintain and repair industrial equipment across Northern England and Scotland. This full‑time, permanent role offers a salary between £35,000 and £43,000 per annum, depending on experience, and requires travel to client sites.

You will play a key role servicing ESS, generators, battery storage systems and related equipment. A strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding background, plus a full UK driving licence

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and repairing ESS, generators, battery storage, portable air compressors, pumps, and lighting towers.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Field service or mobile engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on customer equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on-site.
• Commission and complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new equipment.
• Identify parts required for repairs and complete accurate service documentation.
• Work with the Service Planning team to manage daily schedules and customer visits.
• Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and engineering best practice.
• Maintain company tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Deliver an excellent customer experience while representing the business professionally.

Location

North England & Scotland (field‑based role, ideally based within the Northern England region).

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on customer equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on‑site.
• Commission and complete pre‑delivery inspections (PDI) on new equipment.
• Identify parts required for repairs and complete accurate service documentation.
• Work closely with the Service Planning team to manage daily schedules and customer visits.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and engineering best practice.

• Deliver an excellent customer experience while representing the business professionally at all times.

About You

• Experience servicing and repairing Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Generators, Battery storage solutions, Portable Air Compressors, Pumps, Lighting Towers.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
• Previous field service or mobile engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience in construction plant, power generation, industrial equipment or related sectors is a plus.
