Job summary

Avenue Scotland is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair forklifts and plant equipment in Kirkcaldy and across Scotland. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carry out servicing, and travel to customer sites as required.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or plant engineering background, holds a full UK driving license, and can work independently with a flexible approach. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical, plant hire, forklift, agricultural or similar engineering background.
• A full UK drivers license.
• A flexible and reactive approach to work.
• Good communication skills.
• HGV License desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair breakdowns.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklifts and plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, diesel and gas related faults.
• Carry out basic electrical fault finding where required.
• Travel to sites across Scotland, with OT/time in lieu available for longer-distance jobs.
• Work independently and react efficiently to breakdowns and changing priorities.
