Job summary

Atlas Copco in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site repairs, installations, and servicing of air compressors, dryers and generators, while upholding safety and quality. You will travel across the Southeast UK, log service activity with digital tools and participate in ongoing training.

You’ll act as a brand ambassador, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, contributing to safety and continuous improvement within a collaborative service team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance in industrial fields.
• Mechanical or electrical qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with standard IT applications and digital service tools.
• Valid UK driving licence with a clean record (≤3 points).
• Strong safety mindset and proactive problem solving.
• Excellent customer-focused communication skills.

Responsibilities

Your role

Your mission as the Field Service Engineer is to provide expert repair services for our technology solutions, delivering unmatched customer satisfaction and upholding the highest standards of safety. You Will

• Representing Atlas Copco on-site with professionalism and a customer-first approach
• Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting air compressors, dryers, gas generators, and related equipment
• Diagnosing technical faults and delivering expert repairs with safety and efficiency
• Using digital tools to log service activity, maintain up-to-date records, and report on performance
• Participating in our on-call schedule and supporting urgent service needs when required
• Attending live training and regular team sessions to keep your knowledge and skills sharp
• Acting as a brand ambassador and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement or added value
• Contributing to a culture of collaboration, safety, and innovation across the wider service team

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or engineering field roles, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating competency.
• Comfortable and confident in using standard IT applications and quick to adopt new digital tools and systems for service management.
• Possession of a valid UK driving licence with a good driving record (no more than 3 points).
• Demonstrated adaptability, proactive problem‑solving skills, and a strong safety mindset in a fast‑moving work environment.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer‑oriented approach and enthusiasm for resolving technical challenges.

Job location

You will be part of our customer center in Hemel Hempstead. You will join a dynamic field service team, working remotely and spending a significant amount of time traveling to visit customers within your designated area, Southeast UK.
